Canoe Slalom Preliminary session
OKC Whitewater Center • Boathouse District, Oklahoma City
Whitewater chess on a 250-400m course, Canoe Slalom asks athletes in canoes or kayaks to navigate 18-24 gates while fighting aerated water, eddies, and recirculating holes. Touching a gate costs 2 seconds, missing one costs 50, and the "Eskimo roll" is a survival skill. It is a wet, technical test of precision under pressure.
